My Stained Glass Trial:まいステンドグラスとらいある

Flower Clock stained glass:　花時計

3 years experience piece. Based on rough sketch designed by my Osaka teacher.
The diameter is 50 cm. Rather big.
Original concept is to use backlight for transmitted light beauty. However I chose the beauty through reflected light coloring. My selection was to use glittering glasses
３年目の作品。デザインは大阪の先生の下絵です。５０ｃｍのサイズで大き目です。
本当はバックライトを入れて、透過光を使うデザインですが、私はバックライトではなく、ガラスを反射光がキラキラ光るガラスを選ぶようにしました。

The glitterness doesn't so well recognized in the photo, however you can see it in the bottome left green glasses. Expensive glasses were applied for background blue and green, $50 for 40 cm square.
写真ではわかりにくいですが、左下の緑色の背景部分にその雰囲気が出ています。背景の青と緑に高価なキラキラガラス（４０ｃｍ角で５千円くらい）を使いました。

My favorate red glass was for rose. The reds have a lot of variaties in red color atmospher, in fact, those are from a single glass. Color glass has color graduation and variation in a sheet based on chemical shift with hand made.
バラの花にはお気に入りの赤のガラスを使いました。様々な赤色の色合いが出ていますが、実はこれ、同じ１枚の色ガラスなのです。色ガラスによっては１枚の中で釉薬の発色を意図的に変化させているものも多いのです。

Yellow part is made of special glass which turned red under transmitted light. That doesn't work this time due to no transmitted light, however chosen because of its yellow beautiness.
バラの黄色部分は透過光で赤くなるガラスを使っていますが、今回は透過光がなく、黄色の美しさで採用しました。

Wooden flame and Clock are generally sold in Home center/DIY.
木枠や時計は、日曜雑貨で市販されているものです。

Asteroid Spacecraft:HAYABUSA：ハヤブサ

I made a large-small pair of Asteroid Spacecraft stained glass objet:HAYABUSA.
Those are simplified to the extent of recoginzing it as HAYABUSA.
ハヤブサのステンドグラスを大小ペアで作りました。
ステンドグラスで作れる範囲で簡略化しつつ、一目でそれとわかるように工夫しました。
Wide cone parabolic antenna was made of three sector shape flat glasses.
At the focus point of circle , I also set 5mm diameter glass in it.
円錐のパラボラアンテナは３枚の平面ガラスを扇型に切ったガラスで製作しています。
パラボラ上方の電波の焦点部分の円形（数ミリ）にもガラスを入れています。

Solar panel portion requires neccessary strength, so I need additional reinforcement.
Panel color is carefully selected as same atmosphere as I can, because color glass has every different color atmosphere and tint so I must have chose the best parts among them.
太陽光パネル部分は、斜めに置いた場合に曲がらないよう強度を出すことにも工夫しました。
太陽光パネルのガラスの色も、出来るだけ近いものを色合いが一定ではない色ガラスの中から
ふさわしい部分を選りすぐりました。

I designed to put the light in. At night , it works well.
中にはランプを入れればそれなりの夜のオブジェになります。

Finally I made large size (20 cm) and mini size(10cm)
２０ｃｍくらいの大型版と１０ｃｍくらいのミニ版を作りました。

Mosquito Coil Stand：蚊取り線香立て　ステンド

I made stained glass stand for Mosquito Coil which supplys insecticidal smoke made of natural grass. A stained glass axis is hanging the coil in midair.
The stand has a golden fish design with blue background in a side.

夏前に、蚊取り線香用のスタンドを作りました。
蚊取り線香を軸を通して宙刷りにします。片面は青を基調にした金魚の絵柄。

The opposite has Morning Glory with white base.
裏面は、白を基調としアサガオです。

During summer season, we use it a lot in front of entrance, and if mosquito appears in another place, quickly it is moved to that place!
夏は連日使っています。特に玄関に置いておき、蚊が出現したら出現場所に移動させます。

Aroma Lump: アロマランプ

This is aroma lump in my 3 years. Glass surface curved with furnacing by my teacher.
Lump design was also done by her, so my work were glass selection and soldering. We can pour aroma oil into the lump from upper side.
３年目に作ったアロマランプです。
ガラスは炉で少し曲面に曲げています。（先生に炉で焼いてもらいました。）
デザインも先生の為、私はガラスを選ぶことと製作することが独自作業です。上面からアロマオイルを入れることができるようになっています。

In turning off the lump, whole side covered with green glass. But In turning on, red or yellow color rising up, floating shape of colored glass also, so we can enjoy such a fruitful glass atmosphere.
ランプを消すと、全面緑色のガラスです。ランプの光で赤や黄色が浮かび上がってきますし、色ガラスの流れた色合いも浮かび上がって色ガラスの良さを楽しめます。

Kid's Homework: 夏休みの宿題

This is my kid's summer homework piece, Short Cake style money box. Childlike piece, but hard work to make.
子どもが夏休みの宿題で作ったショートケーキ風貯金箱です。
テーマが子どもならではなので作るのは大変です。

Red glass ball is symbol of strawberry. White parts are short cream decoration.
It is impossible to stick these parts on the glass, so we had to cut the glass intentionally to make soldering line for welding them on it. It's hard work to make white short cream decoration parts and sticking red glass ball on the glass too. We tried a few time and more, finally succeeded.
赤いビー玉はイチゴです。白い盛り上がりはショートクリームです。ガラスの表面にはこのような細工をくっつけることはできない為、わざわざガラスをカットしてハンダ溶接面を作っています。ガラスを溶かして生クリームの盛り上がりの形を作るのも大変、赤いビー玉を溶接し固定するのも何回もトライしてやっとうまくいきました。

Upper rim of tha cake, there are silver wave shape. We use special waving tape for soldering.
ケーキの上面の淵に波を打った銀色の部分があります。これはひだひだの特別なハンダテープを使っています。

Tha plate with a green glass ball is a inner lid. This plate separates inside normal zone from special hidden money zone of bottom to avoid waste. Conceptual work.
緑のビー玉の部分は落し蓋のような２段ブタの部分です。貯金箱として無駄遣いしないように使ってはいけないお金をこの２段蓋の下に貯めるのだそうです。
独特の作品です。

My Largest Stained Glass: 私史上過去最大の作品

In my history, this is the largest stained glass piece. The diameter is 35 cm. Cause there are no suitable place in my home, I asked my relative to put it in her big house.
これが私自身の過去最大作品、直径３５ｃｍくらいです。大きくて自分の家に置く場所がないので、親戚で家の大きい人に使ってもらっています。

Below is my original design.
これはオリジナルデザインです。

Processes are
Draw rough pictures(line drawing)
->Copy/transfer it to the prepared conical shape pattern, like folding fan.
->Copy on the tracing paper in each small parts to transfer the shape on the glass.
->Each paper cut pattern will be pasted on the glass.
下絵を描く
　→円錐を平面に落とした弧のような型紙に転記する
　　→さらにガラスに移し替えることができるように部分部分をトレーシングペーパー
　　　のような紙に移し替える
　　　→これをガラス切片ごとにガラスに貼り付けて切り出しの準備
といった順序で進めてゆきます。

In the underneath photo, upper side is Iris flower, lower is wisteria.
写真の上側が「あやめ」下側が「藤の花」です。

I designed wisteria flowers too small/details, so that required me hard work later on. To check the omission of piece production was very tough and nervous.
藤の花は細かくしすぎてガラスの加工が大変。細かいパーツで抜けがなく加工ができているかの進捗管理が大変でした。

Photo below is from Iris side. Usually pictures run from upper to bottom (anti-gravity style), however in this time, this picture follows gravity rule.
以下はあやめの側から見たものです。通常は上から下へ絵が流れますが、これは私の拘りで地球の重力に沿った形であやめを配置しています。

This is inside-light-off status and wisteria flower side.
It took 3 months, off course I worked for it only at my idole time.
こちら、内部のランプをオフにした状態での藤の側です。
作製に３か月かかりました。もちろん空き時間を利用しながらですけれども。

Stained Glass: Challenge for Umbrella type 2:　ステンドグラス・傘タイプその２

This is a piece of 4-year experience and umbrella type , 2nd Challenge.
Last time, I regret to select a purple type glass which turned into white in case of lighting on.
So carefully glass was selected.
４年目での傘タイプへのチャレンジその２です。
前回、紫の色がランプをつけるとランプの白色にかき消されてしまった反省から今回はガラスの色選択を改善しています。

The design itself, I apply pattern of my stainde glass teacher in Tokyo for this. I selected color and glass.　I remember it was so-called ouroboros glass(?) that was hand-maded regarding additives of colors. (So only one glass in the world.)
デザインは東京でのステンドの先生の型紙を使っています。
ガラスは確かウロボロスガラス（？）で機械作成ではなく、添加剤を人が調整してオリジナルの１枚しかない基ガラスから切り出したものです。
Among beautiful transmetted light type glasses, I chose yellow one and red one. Both turn to be rather red tendency.
透過光が奇麗なガラスから赤と黄色を選びました。何れもランプをつけると、赤み掛かった色で
輝きます。

This was my first successful umbrella type stainde glass, Therefore, it gave me a great pleasure.
ステンドガラスらしい初めてのランプ作成であったのでとても嬉しかったことを覚えています。

Stained Glass: Challenge for Umbrella type:ステンドグラス　傘タイプに挑戦

That's my art piece in 4th year experience. Tulip flowers designs are growing from Top to End side.
Umbllera type broadens from top to bottom. So bottom direction means upper side.
Anyway this was failure one.
４年目の作品です。チューリップが上から下に流れている図柄です。傘タイプは末広がりなので下方向を上に見立てたデザインが多いようです。
でもこれは失敗作。

Switching on the inner lamp, glass pictures become whitening/loosing colors, though I expected graceful purple color shining under the light.
明かりを灯すと白っぽくなってしまって。本当は紫の奇麗な色が出ると思ったのですが白く飛んでしまいました。

Not geometric design but curbs are contained on it, therefore, it was rather easy to make it because easier for adjustment.
幾何学模様ではなく曲線が多く、製作時は修正が利きやすくで作りやすかった。

Below is without inner light. You can see it contains slight purple, But light shining makes this purple turn almost white. Disappointing.
内部照明なしの写真で見てもらうと、紫の色合いが判ってもらえると思います。
これが消し飛んでしまって無念。

Above metal fitting shape is originally round, however with using solder, I made that shape hexagon. So 6 glass plane parts can easily connected with the top metal fitting with solder in the last joint work.
上方にある金具は円い形なのですが、ハンダを盛り付けて六角形にしてガラスの面と合わせられるようにしました。
On the surface of solder, I applied antique-black, that is a kind of chemicals, and that changes the atmospher quiet.
ハンダの表面には、アンティークブラックという薬品を載せて変色させて、アンティーク調の色合いに仕上げています。

In my next piece, whitening trouble improved.
点灯時にガラスの色合いをうまく生かすことは後の作品では改善。

Stained Glass: Small Box　ステンドグラス　小箱

This is a small box made in my early days, that I wanted to make a three-dimensional piece.
My first intention was to make the white flower blossomes warped with using furnace, but it was so comprecated procudtion process that I resignated that and only put it on the box.
立体的なものを作りたくて昔挑戦した小箱です。
本当は蓋の白い花を先生の炉を使い反り返らせて浮かしたかったのですが、面倒なので上に載せるだけにしました。

Side parts are simply soldered because of its square shape.
側面の部分は長方形の組み付けなので簡単です。
蝶つがいをつけたので、この部分は難しく、ハンダを外してやり直しもありました。
蓋の摘みはビー玉です。ビー玉に金属テープを貼り、これとハンダを溶接しています。

側面を先に立体に仕上げてから、底のガラスのサイズを削って調整し、底の面もをハンダで仕上げてから側面と底を溶接しました。

中にガラスのオーケストラを入れて飾りました。素敵でしょ？

ステンドグラス　尖塔付きドーム型

まさじゅんです。

東京に引っ越した後、東京でもステンドグラスの先生を見つけて指導して頂きました。
先生曰く「花でも鳥でも、自分で感動したものを作ってほしい。」

前年にトルコに行く機会があり、（リンク先Jarang&Jarangに今後関連記事予定）
ブルーモスクなど印象的でしたので先生に相談しました。

モスクを作りたい。

まず最初に紙で模型を作ります。
そしてドームのところが難しいのです。平面のガラスで（台形を組み合わせて）球状のドームを作ります。ここのガラス形状は先生に設計して頂きました。
原案では、ドームモスクだけだったのですが、欲が出て、やはり両側の尖塔（ミナレット）がないとモスクじゃない、と尖塔を追加。（実際の比率よりも太目になっちゃいましたが．．．）

両側の細い塔の中ほどに水平方向に黒い筋が入っていますが、この部分の細いガラスも切って磨かねばならず、細かい部品はグラインダーで削る際に爪も少し削れてしまうほど細かいコントロールが必要。

ガラスの原板に折り目の筋を入れて折り取ったのち、ニッパーで出来るだけ直線に近く形を整えてからは、円形砥石のグラインダーでひたすら削ります。これを水平面に置いてチェックしますが水平にならないのですね。直線は嫌、というのが正直な感想です。

上からみると７つの構造になっています。７つともランプを入れてランプの高さも調整しているので光り輝くモスクになりました。
また、壁側にも光の模様が映っています。周辺にも光の美しさが投影されるのもステンドグラスの魅力です。
